Description
Product Description
A Hot-Dip Galvanized Post-Expansion Mechanical Anchor Bolt is a high-strength fastener designed for permanent anchoring in concrete, masonry, or similar rigid substrates. It comprises a threaded steel rod, an expandable sleeve or undercut collar, and a hexagonal nut/washer assembly. The anchor is coated with a hot-dip galvanized zinc layer to ensure corrosion resistance in harsh environments such as coastal or industrial areas.
During installation, a pre-drilled hole is expanded at the base using a specialized undercutting tool, creating a mechanical interlock when the anchor’s sleeve expands into the cavity under torque. This design achieves immediate load-bearing capacity without chemical adhesives, making it suitable for high-vibration or seismic applications.
Key features include:
- High Load Capacity: Rated for tensile and shear loads up to 8.8-grade steel strength (800MPa).
- Crack Tolerance: Approved for use in both cracked and non-cracked concrete.
- Anti-Corrosion Performance: Zinc coating withstands >1,200 hours of salt spray testing (ISO 9227).
Applications
- Structural Engineering: Anchoring steel beams, seismic bracing, and curtain walls to concrete foundations.
- Infrastructure Projects: Securing bridge components, tunnel linings, and highway guardrails in corrosive environments.
- Industrial Installations: Mounting heavy machinery, conveyor systems, and pipelines subjected to dynamic loads.
- Retrofitting: Reinforcing existing structures with minimal substrate disruption.
